Meetings
In addition to School Board meetings I hope to attend PTA/PTO meetings and other school and community events.

When does the School Board meet?

The regularly scheduled School Board meetings are the 1st Wednesdays of each month in the Main Assembly Room of the City County Building at 5pm.
There are work sessions on the Monday preceding regular meetings (usually 1st Mondays). There we discuss the upcoming agenda. The work sessions are held on the 1st Floor of the Andrew Johnson Building at 912 S. Gay Street at 5pm.
There are workshops every 3rd Monday, also in the Andrew Johnson Building at 912 S. Gay Street at 5pm.

How can I speak at a School Board meeting?

Anyone can speak at the regularly scheduled meetings the first Wednesday of each month. You may sign up in advance or at the meeting. Each speaker is allowed 5 minutes. If a group or organization wishes to speak typically they select one spokesperson.
Anyone may speak at a work session if they are speaking to an item that is on the printed agenda.
For further information call the School Board office at 594-1630 and give your name, telephone number and the subject you want to discuss.
